TV–Web Revolution

In the ever-changing digital entertainment world, television has turned from a very anti-social activity to being a social community. Television is no longer confined to water cooler conversation, but has evolved to an extended and even worldwide discussion and involvement, through Web tools, such as blogs, forums and fan sites. Viewers can find out what happens on their favorite shows through sites, but can also be influencers for show writers in the storyline process.

one would think that a company with resources and media savvy that a video blog would have been executed with a tad more professionalism. By far the worst sin is the shitty sound. A story can be told with the worst of video as long as something compelling about the image and is obviously amateur. The tinny sound is distracting and would only be excusable if the woman appearing was in fact reporting from a remote location like Mayanmar, or Thailand. This is a media company that cannot get it’s act together to buy this woman a $100 microphone? I’m not sure I would take it’s advice.

I completely agree with the comment above. I used to work for C&W in the UK and stumbled upon this blog thinking it might be interesting.

Just because you are recording a vlog, doesn’t mean you need to be sloppy. I got sea-sick when the camera moved which just made it look really unprofessional. It is a bit like using text speak in an e-mail - it looks bad! The written word should be used correctly just as moving images should be. This just looks like a sixth form student media project. Shame on you C&W!
